The Liminal Village is a co-living co-creation-space in a networked-rural setting, where we experiment with holistic and alternative technologies to co-create open-source and globally applicable solutions using Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Permaculture, Pain Medicine. It is a place without spectators, as all the guests participate in the creation of the program, giving talks and workshops about their knowledge or passions.
Visitors of the Liminal Village are invited to focus on these three aspects:
Do something for yourself. During your stay at the village, you will set your personal goals and directions. Find your Ikigai, learn something new, write your book or your TED talk!
Do something for the people around you and for your surrounding: Teach something you know, build something, create art, regenerate the place around you.
Do something for the planet and the people living on it: Find a cause that you deem important in the world, find out more about it, then find ways to help and improve!
A place in between …
The word liminal comes from the Latin word limen, meaning threshold – any point or place of entering or beginning. A liminal space is the time between the ‘what was’ and the ‘next.’ It is a place of transition, waiting, and not knowing.
Author and theologian Richard Rohr describes this space as:
where we are betwixt and between the familiar and the completely unknown. There alone is our old world left behind, while we are not yet sure of the new existence. That’s a good space where genuine newness can begin. Get there often and stay as long as you can by whatever means possible…This is the sacred space where the old world is able to fall apart, and a bigger world is revealed. If we don’t encounter liminal space in our lives, we start idealizing normalcy. The threshold is God’s waiting room. Here we are taught openness and patience as we come to expect an appointment with the divine Doctor.
At the Liminal Village, we are investigating the space at the intersections of:
Nature and Technology
Nature is the highest of technologies, we draw inspiration from it to engineer balanced and resilient systems (biomimicry)
Science and Spirituality
We take spirituality as a common denominator of all religions and religious experiences, reintroducing spirituality in a scientific conversation.
Economy and Society
We are designing an alternative economic system which focuses on the wellbeing of the planet and of the people living on it.
Medicine and Holistic Healing
We explore the synergy between modern medicine and psychophysical guidance
